Scholarships Now Available for Design-Build Educators

DBIA is now accepting scholarship applications for the fourth annual Design-Build Educator Workshop. This workshop is designed for educators and teaches the key elements and value of design-build, including how to incorporate design-build best practices into new and existing curriculum. Co-hosted by the Charles Pankow Foundation, over 35 educators from universities across the country have been trained via this workshop over the past three years. Among the universities participating in the 2016 workshop were Auburn University, Purdue University and University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

As educators, you play a major role in exposing students to design-build and its value to the industry, educating them on best practices and opportunities for collaboration. With design-build currently at 40% of the non-residential design and construction market, the value inherent in this project delivery method is becoming increasingly apparent and valuable to your students' as they prepare to enter the workforce. Incorporating DBIA's University Program into your existing curriculum will give students a competitive advantage in collaborative project delivery as future industry leaders.

The four-day workshop will be held July 31-August 3, 2017, at the University of Denver. Full scholarships are available for qualified faculty from universities that demonstrate a commitment to enhancing their curriculum to include design-build. The scholarship covers tuition, travel, lodging and meals. A limited number of scholarships are available; interested educators are encouraged to apply early.

The deadline to submit an application for a scholarship is June 2, 2017 via email to DBuniversity@dbia.org. Applicants will be notified of their application status no later than June 15.
